Regulatory Disclaimer

Advisory only

DaPilot tracks duty, rest, currency, and medical windows for your reference. The numbers shown in the iOS app and on this website are calculated from the flights and times you log. They are advisory values, intended to help you stay aware of where your time stands relative to the limits you operate under.

You are the PIC

You are solely responsible for determining your legality for flight, your compliance with 14 CFR (including Parts 61, 91, 117, and 135 where applicable), your operations specifications, your certificate holder’s policies, and any other applicable rules or guidance. Verify against your ops manual and 14 CFR before duty.

What DaPilot is not

  • Not FAA approved or certified. No pilot logbook app holds an FAA certification. Treat any product that claims otherwise with skepticism.
  • Not a system of record.Your certificate holder’s scheduling and dispatch systems remain authoritative for duty assignments and operational compliance.
  • Not a fatigue-risk management system. FRMS programs are formal regulatory frameworks held by carriers; DaPilot does not replace them.
  • Not a flight planning or dispatch tool. Releases, ATC clearances, and weather decisions are made elsewhere.
  • Not a substitute for legal advice. If you have questions about your specific regulatory exposure, talk to an aviation attorney or your union.

How regulatory math is presented

Every regulatory number in DaPilot reads as a fact paired with a citation, for example: Flight time (672 hr): 61.4 / 100, §117.23(b)(1). We do not render verdicts. There is no “legal” or “illegal” badge anywhere in the product. Every value links to the relevant section on eCFR so you can read the source text.

Inputs are yours

DaPilot does not infer regulatory boundaries. We do not auto-fill acclimation state, report time, rest periods, or any other value that determines a regulatory limit. Anything the iOS app could not determine from your input is shown as an explicit assumption you confirm before it is used.

First-time acceptance

The first time you enable Airline Mode (or any future feature that calculates regulatory limits) inside the iOS app, you will see this disclaimer in a modal and tap to accept. Your acceptance is recorded server-side with a timestamp. We re-show the modal if material changes are made to the calculation engine.

If you find a problem

If a calculation looks wrong, tap any number in the iOS app to see the inputs that produced it. If the math is genuinely off, email support@dapilot.pro with your account email and the screen in question. We take regulatory calculation bugs seriously.
